St Cuthbert's Church, Cheadle

I am organist, treasurer, home group leader and deanery synod representative for St Cuthbert's Church, Cheadle. A Church of England Church which is part of the parish of St Mary's, Cheadle. It was built as a Mission Church by the wealthy Victorian Mill owners for the working class community of Cheadle Heath, in 1887.The area has changed a lot over the past 100 years and the community it now serves is much more suburban residential. It's a small but lively evangelical Church. Other Christian Churches in Cheadle include a joint Methodist/United Reform Church in Massie Street and a Roman Catholic Church - St. Chad's. It is widely considered that the name Cheadle is derived from Chad's Hill.

I moved to Cheadle, when I got married in 1977 and was appointed organist in November 1978.

Keep on studying His word! There's so much to learn from it.

It consists of four studies looking at the Lord's Prayer from a spiritual point of view

and encouraging Christians to live more spiritual lives.

It has been written for groups and there are leader's notes, but it could be used for private study.

CHRIST HAS DIED

Greater love hath no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends.

Love one another as I have loved you.

For since by man came death....

CHRIST IS RISEN

So also by man came the resurrection of the dead.

He is alive! Alleluia!

CHRIST WILL COME AGAIN

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "no" to ungodliness and wordly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
